In May 2026, on behalf of the Studio Muzi & Associati, a geological-sysmic study was carried out at the headquarters of the Bank of Italy, Rome, as part of the LBA Soccorritori project.
The characterization of the subsoil was developed by integrating evidence DPSH, surveys ERT and seismic investigations, together with data from previous geognostic campaigns and available bibliographical information. The evidence DPSH have been used to define geotechnical characteristics and the degree of soil thickening, while surveys ♪ have allowed to reconstruct the distribution of the resisivity of the subsoil and identify any anomalies related to cavities or lithological variations. The investigation seismic have allowed to characterize the dynamic properties of the soil and to define the local seismic model.
The integration of the results allowed the reconstruction of the lithostratigraphic, geotechnical, and seismic setting of the area, as well as an assessment of the main geological hazards and local seismic response. Particular attention was given to the potential presence of subsurface cavities, by comparing geophysical anomalies with evidence from previous geotechnical investigations.
The study provided the necessary framework to assess the compatibility of the ground conditions with the proposed works and support the subsequent geotechnical design.
