THE REPUBLIC OF CAMERUN: Seismic and Geophysical Investigations of the railway branches Édéa-Campo and Douala-Idenau

Our company carried out preliminary geophysical surveys for the engineering design of two railway branches in the Republic of Cameroon: the tracks Édéa-Kirbi-Campo (South) and Douala-Limbé-Idenau (South-West), which will help connect the main cities of the country.

We characterized the ground along the planned railway alignment from both geophysical and geotechnical perspectives, using laboratory and in-situ investigations such as MASW, ESAC, ReMi, Seismic Refraction Tomography (P-wave), HVSR, Penetrometer tests, and DCP. Part of the on-site geophysical investigation was carried out in the first half of November 2018.

Finally, we were able to provide the complete geological profile for both rail branches, the result of a careful and detailed work of documentation and geological survey of the areas.
